Study Plans

Study Plans are available for many of our house plans. They allow you to further study the design of the home prior to investing in the blueprints. They are intended for those more interested in studying the design than in the construction details. Prices start at $60. As a rule, the prices are based on $10 for each sheet of drawings.

Study Plans include:

• A mini set of drawings on 11 x 17 via U.S. mail, or a PDF file sent as an email attachment. Each set has 6 to 12 pages of drawings which vary for each house depending upon the drawings available with the blueprints (see each house plan page). An example can be downloaded from the link on the drawing. (It is over 1 MB so make take some time to download.)
• Schematic site plan, floor plans (with room sizes and furniture), and exterior elevations. Depending upon the drawings that come with each house plan, they may also show kitchen elevations, a cutaway through the house to help you visualize the interior, and various options available for that plan (such as daylight basements and garages).

Study Plans do not include:

• Construction dimensions and notes
• Construction drawings (such as wall sections, foundation plans)
• Mirror reverse plans
• Specifications and Custom Energy Recommendations to adapt the home to your climate

If after reviewing the Study Plan (SP), you want to see more technical information, but aren't ready to order the blueprints or CAD files, consider ordering our Construction Review Set (CRS). We allow you to upgrade to the CRS for the price difference between the CRS less the Study Plan plus a $15 fee. You can pay through the custom payment link in our shopping cart.
