"The Sun-Inspired House, a 247-page book by architect Debra Rucker Coleman, may be the best available introduction to passive solar design. Colemanís book is much more useful than three better-known books on the topic:..."  (download the complete review)
-Energy Design Update, July 2008

The content of The Sun-Inspired House evolved from the questions that have been asked of Debra about passive solar, passive cooling, energy efficiency and green building by home owners, builders, engineers and architects over the last 25 years. Although the book includes more than 50 house plans, its primary benefit comes from its in-depth coverage of passive solar home design, green building, energy-efficient construction, working with architects, and many other resources. The Sun-Inspired House may be purchased directly from Sun Plans.

-Energy Design Update, July 2008, Written by Martin Holladay who is now the Energy Nerd editor with Green Building Advisor.

"Many, many thanks for the copy of your new book. It is a delight to read and jam-packed with excellent informationÖ.Having all the information in one place would have given us security in going through all the choices we made. I am ordering another to give to our builder. Congratulations on a wonderful book!"
- David Young, Sun Plans Home Owner

"Her book is a good beginner's guide to understanding passive solar design concepts and energy-efficient building strategies. The finest compliment I can give this book is to say that it will be dog-eared by the end of your building project."
- Home Power, June/July 2006
