ICF House Plans

The sun-inspired, passive solar heating and cooling aspects of Sun Plan's ICF homes exceed the energy savings of other, non-passive solar ICF house plan on average by 30% if the homes are properly oriented (see north arrows on the floor plans). Although the description drop down box for each house plan describes the basic construction elements such as wall and roof systems, ceiling heights, and thermal mass elements, the plans below already have ICF walls for at least the first floor. (We have considered adding a wall search tool like some of the larger house plans companies and if we do, will most likely advise our customers of this by email.)

Most of our plans that have basements are already designed for ICF foundations as the first choice. The following plans also have ICF for at least the majority of first floor walls. As with our other plans, our CAD files allow for your local design professional to modify the foundation and other aspects of the house. Some builders and building code officials may allow for ICF wall changes to be made to our other plans in the field during construction so that might be an option for experienced builders comfortable and experienced with such substitutions. As with other changes, keep the builder and building inspectors informed of your changes and consult with a local structural engineer.
